 Have you tried connecting your blogger account to AdSense but always get ' We cannot verify your ownership to this domain?' Well, you are not alone. That has been a major challenge for people using Google's blogger blog.


Unlike WordPress where you will need to verify your domain on AdSense just by using the sitekite plugin, on Google blogspot, you will need to verify your domain manually by copying the code and inserting it into your Blogger header.


Sign up for Adsense 


The first step in verifying your domain or site on Adsense is to create your account if you have not done so. You can either create it by going to the Blogger dashboard and navigating to the earning tab.


Important Notice 


If you both your blogger website and Adsense are on the same Google account, you will need to through the Blogger dashboard:

  • On your dashboard, navigate to sites and click on "New site"
  • Add your domain and tap on save
  • After adding your domain, click on your website url to proceed 
  • Here, you will be asked to verify your domain 
  • You have three options to verify your site: Adsense code snippet, Adx.txt snippet and meta tag
  • The most common way is through code snippet 


Follow the steps below to verify your domain on Adsense:


  • Copy the snippet code and log in to your blogger blog 
  • Navigate to the "theme" section 
  • Click on the drop-down menu and choose edit html 
  • Paste the code between the <head></head> tags on your template 
  • After pasting, click on save to save your changes 
  • Now go back to your Adsense account and check the box which says "I've place the code"
  • Now, click on verify to verify your domain

  • Log in to your domain registra
  • Navigate to the DNS servers 
  • On the A record add @ to the name column and 216.239.32.21 to the point to or value 
  • Click on save to update your DNS server 
  • Now log in back to your adsense account and click on verify
  • If you have followed the correct instruction, your site should be able to get verified 


Why Adsense Couldn't Verify Your Site


Here are some of the possible reasons your site could not be verified by Adsense:


  • Your snippet code has not been properly pasted to your blogger theme. Do not alter the code. Make sure to paste if as it is
  • There might be technical issues on your blog
